The Syracusan Camp
Back to the painting table to deal with my Syracusan camp. Since the beginning I’d like to realize a little diorama that could be credible and fit for my army.
The solution was quite simple. It describes exactly the moment before the battle begins.
Dionysius I has asked the priest for a good omen by offering a goat to Apollo. The sacrifice went good and the trumpeters alert the army. Ready for the battle!
Finalmente ho ripreso i pennelli per realizzare il mio campo siracusano. Invece di mettere la solita facciata di tempio greco ho pensato di realizzare un piccolo diorama degli istanti immediatamente precedenti alla battaglia. Quando il comandante (in questo caso Dionisio I) assiste al sacrificio rituale di una capra in onore di Apollo per ingraziarsi gli dei sul campo.
Il sacrificio è stato effettuato e i presagi sono buoni. Si può cominciare. Il trombettiere allerta l’esercito.

I pezzi utilizzati sono: Essex (Dionisio, il nobile le guardie del corpo mercenarie), Donnington (il sacerdote, il trombettiere, la capra), Baueda (la tenda e le anfore).
